Granola

Granola is staple for easy snack, breakfast help like sprinkling on yogurt. It is not easy to find completely no nuts product from store. Most of products have a warning about trace of nuts even it doesn't have nuts in ingredients, so I decided to make my own.

Simple granola (Original recipe from Cookie+ kate)
(About 2qt)

5 cup old fashioned rolled oat meal
1/2 cup coconut oil
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/2 tsp salt

Preheat oven: 350f

  1. Melt coconut oil, mix with maple syrup and salt.
  2. Mix with oat meal.
  3. Spread on baking pan. Bake for 30~mins. Mix in mid point for even cooking.
  4. Leave to cool.
Time might be vary, depending on ovens so find your perfect time. Mine is about 35 mins. It might be still soft when it's ready, but it'll be crispy once it gets cool. My husband didn't like dried fruits in it, so it's very simple basic granola. According to Kate's website, olive oil can be used as a replacement of coconut oil but I haven't tried yet.

You can lift up once it get cooled. If you touch/mix before it gets cooled, it’ll get crumbled. I use mason jars to store in my pantry.
